Tulip Route Flevoland
In April, Flevoland comes into full colour due to many tulip fields. Since 2015 at the initiative of the then mayor of Dronten, and following the example of the Noordoostpolder (a different county) tulip routes have been set out in Eastern and Southern Flevoland. Every year a group of enthusiastic volunteers map out the tulip fields and then put together routes for cars, cyclists and walkers.
De Kandelaar
Tulip Route Flevoland not only offers tulip beauty it also gives many companies an opportunity to show their business. From a cheese farm to a care farm, a fruit growing company, an ice cream maker and a french fries bakery to name a few. Get to know all the beautiful things Flevoland has to offer.
At Bed & Breakfast De Kandelaar you can get further information about the tulip cultivation, the tulip routes, and you can also learn about the dairy and arable farm. In addition, there are various tulip gadgets and items available, from wooden tulips to tulip underwear. This year you can visit a large tulip field and see three tulip mosaics commemorating 75 years of Freedom. A great opportunity to take a selfie and many other pictures.
Arrangement for children
In collaboration with Zwaan Buitensport and De IJsbrouwers, Bed & Breakfast De Kandelaar organises an arrangement for the children during the Tulip Route, the children’s tulip package. The children’s tulip package consists of a colouring page with activities and a visit to the three companies. Where at De IJsbrouwers the children will get an ice cream, they can go survivaling at Zwaan Buitensport and at De Kandelaar they can have a look at the lambs, visit the small cheese factory and of course taste the cheese. The children’s tulip package costs €10,00 per child (normally €12,50). When you hand in the finished colouring page, there is a chance to win a nice price. This experience can be started at all of the three locations, please register though pre-registration is not necessary!
